Quick answer
We accept prepaid and gift cards from Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express
Some issuers limit where their cards can be used, so for the smoothest checkout, we recommend using a debit or credit card. See the full list of supported payment methods
Make sure that your card is activated and supports international payments
Supported cards and exceptions
Issuer or card type | Is it accepted |
Visa prepaid and gift cards | Yes |
Vanilla Visa gift cards | No |
Mastercard prepaid and gift cards | Yes |
Discover prepaid and gift cards | Yes |
American Express prepaid and gift cards | Yes |
Store and platform gift cards* | No |
* For example, Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Xbox, Netflix, Disney, Starbucks, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy gift cards are not accepted, as they only work in their own store, so you can't use them to pay on Eldorado. If you only have one of these, exchange it for a supported prepaid card or pay with a debit or credit card instead.
Before you pay
A few quick checks help your payment go through smoothly:
Make sure the card is activated.
Register the card if needed. Check the back of the prepaid card for the issuer’s URL, log in, and register the required information, like the owner's name, postal code, or address. Many issuers only allow online payments with registered cards. At checkout, enter the same name and address you registered.
Check that the card allows international online payments. Eldorado is based in Europe, so your payment might be treated as international. For example, many gift cards, especially ones issued in the US, only work in the country where they were issued.
Check that the card supports 3D Secure. You may need to confirm your payment with your card issuer, and cards that don't support 3D Secure are often declined.
Make sure the balance covers the full amount, including the payment fee shown at checkout. Your issuer may also charge a currency conversion or foreign transaction fee.
If you're not sure whether your card allows international online payments, check the back of the card or contact the issuer. Their contact details are usually printed on the card.
Troubleshooting
If your card is declined
Go through the checks in the Before you pay section, then try again. Waiting at least 15-30 minutes is recommended. If it's still declined, contact your card issuer and ask whether the card can be used for international online payments.
A declined payment can still show as a temporary hold on your card. The issuer releases it, usually within a few days. If you need any further help, do not hesitate to contact Eldorado support.
If your card doesn't work, you can pay with a debit or credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or crypto instead. See Payment methods for all supported payment options you can choose from.
